Default could you add these SR versions?

Hi!
Since you are looking into the problem and it seems to take some time, could you add the swedish stations in this format as well so that we have the possibility to listen to them?

Hi Patrick,

The NetWorks system does not support the AAC format. For the time being I can add more Windows Media Audio streams to your unit. Although, it seems Swedish Radio will be phasing out the WMA streams.

And to give you an update on our progress: We have had people testing various stations in different parts of the world. Our results seem to point to the problem relating to connection speeds and not the NetWorks system. Our testers with slow or unreliable connections are able to replicate the problem you are experiencing. MP3 and WMA are different compression technologies, WMA seems to be more efficient with slower connections.

I will report back when I have further information. Let me know if you would like me to add more Swedish Radio streams in the WMA format to your unit.

Default Aac?

Hi!

When I read the manual, http://www.tivoliaudio.com/pdf/NWFMNA0709.pdf

Specifications, (Page 23) it say that it does support AAC?

Could you clarify?

Regards,
Patrick

Patrick,

I am sorry to cause any confusion.

We support the AAC file type in music player mode (file sharing or USB). We do not support AAC streaming.

Default Thanks for the Update

Kyle,

Thats good news that you are now seeing the same problem that Patrick and I are getting. Hopefully it can be resolved with a simple software fix - maybe a more efficient MP3 decoder. I'm looking forward to getting things working soon.

Our tests conclude there is no way to improve the issue with a software fix, as the problem directly relates the available bandwidth along the way between the originating station and your home network. We will suggest the station to use WMA which is the direction followed by many broadcasters, such as the BBC.
We believe this issue relates to the technology itself not the NetWorks unit; we have experienced the same using other Internet radio devices, in China. On our side the only possible fix could be to add more memory to the Networks unit, although this is a hardware modification. This is also not guaranteed to solve the problem, and it might introduce collateral damages such as an increased loading time, which we want to avoid because it will compromise the user experience for any Internet station. Though this issue is not exclusive to the NetWorks, we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and we remain committed to further research.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
